Haase Days: Steamboat!!

Last week we went skiing in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado with Anne's family. It was a great trip. It didn't snow a lot - but the weather was great and we had three full days of skiing. We even got Audrey out on the slopes for a little while after a brief search for some boots her size.

Everything went pretty well the whole trip -- except for one minor hiccup. We landed in Denver and sent Anne, Jenna and Audrey to baggage claim. Will and Aaron headed out to get the rental car. As Aaron and Will were pulling up to the curb to pick us up at baggage claim Audrey decided it was a good idea to show us what she had eaten before we left Minnesota. It was kind of a surprise. We didn't really expect it -- because she lives in a carseat on most weekends, she's spent a whole weekend on a boat on Lake Superior and has flown before. So we blame it on corndog she ate at a chain restaurant (to remain namless, but it rhymes with Willie's). So we get her cleaned up and hit the road... only to have it continue. Ahhh, rush hour in Denver, three hours from our destination and a toddler projectile vomiting in the backseat. Life is good. So after about three miles and numerous heaves... we exit to pick up some needed provisions at Target. So two packs of towels, air freshners, clothes, a bib, wet wipes, Lysol and a few breaths of fresh mountian air later we hit the road. There were only a few more outbursts before Audrey dozed off to Elmoland and we were finally at peace. Although Anne did keep her hand on Audrey's chest and throat ( AKA the pre-warning device) the rest of the trip. We arrived in Steamboat and thought we were in the clear -- until Grandma decided to twirl the grandchild in the air.... oops... "cleanup aisle Living Room". Aaron was thankful he was the driver and was unpacking when all of this was taking place. The trip home was normal... so yes, it was the corndog.
