We left the Kunkel's house on Sunday, Feb 28th and drove through Wyoming into Colorado. We stopped at our friends Erik and Megan's house in Denver to visit for awhile and then headed into the mountains.
We got Audrey on her skis all five days we were there. She improved more and more everyday. It was just amazing! What a production it is though. She had quite the entourage everyday and got a lot of attention since she was one of the youngest skiers on the mountain. Copper Mountain has a great area for beginner skiers and it was on the exact opposite end of the mountain from us. They have a great bus system so we took the bus everyday. Audrey thought it was pretty cool that she got to ride a bus everyday too!
This picture was taken in Center Village. They have a great skating rink, lots of restaurants and stores.
After we skied all day, we'd take Audrey sledding just outside of our condo. We stayed right on the mountain and were within walking distance of a chairlift. We'd hike up a hill a little ways and then slide down.
And just like that, she didn't want anything to do with the little harness we bought her and she wanted to go "all by myself." She was so proud of herself!!
Still going.... she took a few spills. She even made Papa fall once too. She thought that was hilarious!
Our friends Erik and Megan from Denver came out on Thursday to ski with us and have dinner. It's always so wonderful to see them!
Our last day of skiing (Friday). It was the only cold and snowy day we had. Audrey toughed it out for a couple of hours. What a good sport!
Packing up to head back to Minnesota on Saturday. This was the view from our bedroom. Can't beat it!!
We spent Saturday night on Kearney, Nebraska and then drove the rest of the way on Sunday. Once again, Audrey was a great passenger. Now it's back to reality!!
