Springtime Fun!

We have been having a fun Spring! The weather has been wonderful and we are enjoying the chance to get outside and enjoy nature! We went to Blue Earth for Easter. It was a great time as Leah and Dan were home as well with Lydia and Acacia. The girls had fun playing together and of course finding Easter eggs and all the candy!

Audrey was very excited that there was candy inside the eggs!

Acacia was snacking as she went.

Chillin' at the Cedar Inn!

The weekend after Easter Anne headed to California for a friends wedding, so Aaron and Audrey headed to Mankato and Blue Earth for the weekend. Aaron decided that it would be easier than trying to entertain Audrey all by himself for a long weekend. When Anne was dropped off at the airport, Audrey decided that leaving a shoe on the curb would be a good idea. So when Aaron dropped her off at daycare they were down one shoe. Aaron went home to get a replacement pair and checked online to see if the missing shoe could be replaced easily and on the cheap. No luck. So Aaron drove back to the airport to see if he could find the shoe. He decided on the way there that if drove up and saw a robot carrying a size seven toddler shoe to a bomb disposal unit that he would just keep driving. Fortunately there was no police activity and someone had put the shoe on a concrete barrier. You can't let the toddler win.....

Audrey had a great time playing with her cousins at a few parks and even saw a few animals at Sibley Park. They spent the night at Aaron's Aunt and Uncle's house and next morning Aaron let Audrey go for a drive with the newly licensed driver Dani. Congrats Dani -- thanks for getting her back safe! They spent Sunday and Monday in Blue Earth with Aaron's parents. Audrey got to go down to visit Grandpa Paul at work and bring him coffee and donuts. Although she didn't find the motorhomes very entertaining -- she thought the baby chickens she got to pet were pretty cool. Aaron's cousin Mark brought his boys over to play with Audrey. They had a great time -- although trying to get a picture of them was nearly impossible. Anne arrived home Monday evening safe and sound. She had a wonderful time -- although it was warmer in Minnesota that weekend than San Diego!Anne with her friends -- Rachel, Kelly and Missy

We made another quick trip to Mankato to watch Dani, Allie and Gabi perform in the Mankato Skating Club show. They all did a wonderful job and all the hard work they put in really shows! Audrey actually sat well for the first 1 hr and 45 minutes -- then I think the sugar buzz wore off and she fell asleep. We can thank Aaron's aunts for all the candy -- they know how to keep a girl happy! The other highlight of the show was watching Aaron's uncle Morrie skate briefly -- very impressive. Who would have thought doing the Chicken dance on skates would be so cool?... wait, nevermind, there was nothing cool about it. Thanks for entertaining us Morrie!
