Day five of Audrey's life was full of new adventures. She joined her parents and Grandma Betsy on a daily walk around the neighborhood. It's been a great week out here. It has been warm -- but not unbearable. It has been a good week for Aaron to have a week off from work.
We took Audrey to her first visit to the doctor today. It seemed like the wait for the doctor took about ten times longer with a baby than it does any other time. We did get in to see the doctor and everything checked out great. So that is a huge blessing. They didn't take her away from us for being unfit parents -- so I guess we have that going for us.
Today was supposed to be Grandma McNulty's last day with us. Aaron took her to her to the Amtrak station for her scenic trip back to St. Paul on the rail. After a little looking for this station it was found -- but something didn't seem quite right. So we went inside and found a kiosk and printed out her ticket. Aaron left Betsy to wait for her train. No sooner had Aaron got home and starting to change a diaper when Betsy called.... she was at the wrong station. So Aaron jumped back in his car to get her. By the time he arrived to pick her up it was too late to get her to the other station. So Grandma got to stay another night and watch Audrey's first bath!
We gave Audrey her first bath at home tonight. She was suprisingly pleasant throughout the whole ordeal. She didn't slip out of hands, and we didn't blind her -- so we consider that a minor victory for the first week of parenting.
Tomorrow Grandma McNulty will be heading back to Minnesota (we think) and then Grandma and Grandpa Haase arrive with Aunt Leah and Cousin Lydia for a long weekend stay. We are looking forward to it!
