Our last full day at the hospital was very busy! Audrey decided competitive eating was her new thing. She kept mom very busy eating and dad very busy changing diapers. Aaron decided to forgo a restful night sleep to spend the evening at the hospital because he knew Anne was going to need the help. The previous night Anne had insisted that Aaron go home to get a good night sleep. After we got everything settled the night went pretty well. We've discovered that Audrey enjoys the hours of 10 PM and 1 AM -- so she is very familiar with the names Leno, O'Brien and Daly. She slept from 2 AM to 5 AM which was a welcome surprise for us!
The morning arrived and we were excited to get home. The lab technician came in to draw blood at 6 AM to test for Jaundice one more time. Her numbers went up a little bit again -- but the pediatrician was not concerned. We have to go back to the hospital tomorrow for another test. After we got the OK from all the doctors -- we headed out the door. Audrey handled the car ride quite well.
We were greeted at home by Grandma Betsy who had the camera ready. We took a few pictures and unpacked the car. We showed Audrey her new room. We are pretty sure she liked it.
The first day at home went well. Audrey just slept and ate -- which is all we really expect. We went for a walk around the block to help Anne get back into the swing of things. We introduced Audrey to our neighbors Adam and Nicole who gave us some great clothes! We were forced to show off our Packer outfits that we had received from a few friends at a shower in Green Bay -- they totally throw off the balanced pink look of her closet. So all you Vikings fans can get Audrey some Vikings apparel -- because the Packer fans are already looking for the next generation of season ticket holders.
It is great to be home and have Grandma Betsy here to make it a lot easier. She is making curtains for Audrey's room, did the laundry and made us a great dinner -- all while keeping a close eye on Audrey. Thanks Betsy!
